Have an idea for a one-day event? Q+ could make it happen!

Following the success of last year’s Q+ one-day events, lgbtQ+@Cam invites proposals from students and academics at the University of Cambridge for one-day interdisciplinary workshops, conferences and/or screenings to be held during Lent term of the 2023-24 academic year.

If successful, lgbtQ+@Cam will offer administrative support for the event and up to £500 funding. Proposed events must relate to the programme’s focus on queer studies, gender and sexuality, and/or LGBTQI+ activism and research, all broadly defined.

The application form can be downloaded here. Applications must include:

  • a list of organisers and their departments
  • a 500-word description of the event
  • a draft budget.

Applications from doctoral candidates and postdoctoral researchers are particularly encouraged. Unsuccessful applicants from last round are welcome to apply again. Proposals should be submitted to the lgbtQ+@Cam Programme Co-ordinator, Lucian Stephenson (lgbtq@sociology.cam.ac.uk).

If you have any questions, or would like to discuss potential collaborations on future events, please contact Dr Geoffrey Maguire (gwm23@cam.ac.uk) and Dr Marcin Smietana (ms935@cam.ac.uk).

Submissions are now closed for 2023 entry. Thank you to everyone who submitted their proposals!
