About
Brad Epps holds the established Chair in Spanish at the University of Cambridge, where he also served as Head of the Department of Spanish and Portuguese. He is a Professorial Fellow at King’s College, Cambridge. For over two decades, he was Professor of Romance Languages and Literatures and of Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality— for which he also served as Chair—at Harvard University. He has published over a hundred articles on modern literature, film, art and architecture in Spain, Latin America, Hispanophone Africa and Catalonia as well as in the areas of urban theory, critical legal studies, LGBT Studies, queer theory and immigration. He is the author or co-author of several books on Juan Goytisolo, Pedro Almodóvar, Spanish literary history, and immigration and sexuality and has been a visiting professor or scholar in Spain, Germany, France, Chile, Cuba, the Netherlands, Sweden, China, Costa Rica and the United Kingdom. The recipient of numerous academic awards and honours, he currently directs a strand in an AHRC-funded project on multilingualism, “Multilingualism: Empowering Individuals, Transforming Societies” (MEITS), and is the new Series Editor for Hispanic Studies at Routledge Press.
