Cambridge has a thriving, welcoming LGBTQ+ community both at the university and in the wider town. Below you can find links to help you connect to both.
Cambridge University
LGBT+ Staff Network |
The University's LGBT+ Staff Network welcomes all individuals who work for the University, a College or an associated institution, who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender (LGBT+). Alongside the University's other Diversity Networks the LGBT+ Staff Network provides information and support to staff, assists with the co-ordination of diversity events and helps the University to progress equality. |
Students Union LGBT+ |
The purpose of this group is to create an easy-going climate, where people can make new friends and form a local community and pursue social activities together. Working through Meetup this allows the scheduling of events to be as frequent as the group would wish them to be without any central organisation requirements. |
Q+STEM |
We are working with STEM academics at the University of Cambridge to coordinate a university-wide Q+STEM network. |
Town Community
Encompass Network |
Encompass Network promotes a better quality of life for LGBTQ people in Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas by enabling networking and capacity building for the LGBTQ voluntary and community sector. |

Pink Festival |
Pink Festival Group is a charity based in Cambridge whose aim is to celebrate the diversity of the community through the arts, whilst making a profit to feed back into the LGBT+ charitable sector locally. We aim to raise awareness of issues faced by LGBT+ people, foster understanding between people from diverse backgrounds and, as a result, help combat discrimination and other negative social attitudes towards LGBT+ people. |
Cambridge Pride |
Cambridge had its first Pride festival in 2019. |
