The Department of Sociology has historically supported research and teaching in the LGBTQ+, Queer Theory, Sexuality Studies and Trans Studies areas. These are all areas that have rapidly expanded in the UK and elsewhere and are now vibrant scholarly subfields for which there is considerable student demand.
